Bid Information:

Sealed Bids for furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment and appurtenances necessary for the construction of the Uptown and South Commons CSO Disinfection and Dechlorination (Project No. 35774-71) and the Uptown CSO Grit Improvements (Project No. 35774-73) will be received at the Columbus Water Works, 1421 Veterans Parkway, Columbus, Georgia 31901, until 2:00 p.m., local time, on June 1, 2023, and then at said location publicly opened and read aloud.

The Project includes CSO system improvements at four locations in Columbus, Georgia including the following improvements to the disinfection, dechlorination, and grit handling systems:

1. Construction of a new disinfection building with unloading station and a new chemical feed vault on an existing 72-inch combined sewer line at the 29th Street site;

2. Upgrades to the dechlorination system at the Uptown CSO Facility, and conversion of the existing advanced treatment building to a chlorine contact chamber;

3. Upgrades to the disinfection system at the South Commons CSO Facility.

4. Installation of a new dechlorination system at the South Commons CSO Facility, conversion of an existing sampling station to a new dechlorination feed station, construction of a new sampling station with fiberglass building, and site improvements including a new access driveway from the existing driveway to the new sampling station.

5. Re-piping the grit discharge lines from six existing grit vortex units, rerouting piping, replacing vortex unit influent pinch valve sleeves, replacing existing pumps and installing new pumps at the Uptown CSO facility.

The work will be awarded in one Contract.

The Owner reserves the right to reject all Bids, to waive informalities and to readvertise.


Pre-Bid Information:

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held if so indicated in the Advertisement for Bids. Oral statements may not be relied upon and will not be binding or legally effective.


Interpretations and Addenda:

All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed, delivered or otherwise issued to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.

Addenda may be issued to clarify, correct, or change the Bidding Documents as deemed advisable by Owner or Engineer.
